We have been vacationing at "The Rookery" for a number of years. Each year we look forward to the improvements made by the owner and we have never been disappointed. Each year we seem to enjoy the house and the location even more than the year before. This year we were somewhat apprehensive about what things would be like after Hurricane Matthew made his unwelcome appearance in 2016. Carol assured us that everything would be fine, we believed her and were glad we did. "The Rookery's" improvements were beyond expectations both inside and outside of the house. May tall pines have been removed which gives a better view of the lagoon, improves the neatness of the pool area, as well as providing more sun around the pool. Palmetto trees have been added in the front and back, and a large new grill added to the patio area. As always the interior was spotless one of the reasons we love to rent Carol's house. A new washer, new window treatments for the master bedroom, several newly upholstered chairs are a few of the improvements we enjoyed. Carol is only a phone call away and makes herself available if you have any problems or concerns. Thank you Carol, for providing an outstanding rental for families to enjoy. We look forward to our next visit.

This was the perfect home for our first family vacation on Hilton Head Island. We had 7 adults, 3 grandchildren, and 1 dog but we never felt like we were cramped for space. The open kitchen, dining and living area was so great for meals and socializing that we never really wanted to go out to eat. Everybody enjoyed the private pool area. There were plenty of chairs and lounges to relax and enjoy the sun. The patio area overlooking the lagoon was a great place to relax in the evening and watch the egrets roosting on Egret Island. The home is well located and just a short distance to the beach, Harbour Town and South Beach. I really enjoyed taking our dog for sunrise walks on the beach. The beaches are beautiful and not crowded at all. We definitely want to come again!

This summer was the seventh year that my family has stayed in one of Carol and Gary's homes. This was the second year that my husband and I, along with our children and grandchildren stayed in this amazing house, also known as The Rookery. We love the location and everything that Sea Pines has to offer. This home is beautifully furnished and has every amenity. Carol is extremely professional and spells everything out in her welcome letter. I can't think of a better place for a family vacation!

We have been going to Hilton Head for more than 10 years and even have a time share there. Of all the places we have stayed at, we all agreed that by far, the "Rookery" home was the loveliest and most comfortable. The weather was perfect and the home was perfectly situated to take advantage of all the attractions Hilton Head has to offer. At the same time it was secluded enough so that we had plenty of privacy and quiet for the grandchildren to take their naps. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the entire house, pool and location of the property. The grandchildren had a great time playing in the heated pool and running around the house. Our daughters and their spouses each enjoyed having their own large bedroom and modern updated bath. My wife specifically loved sitting outside in the backyard enjoying the scenery and while having a glass of wine. The owner even arranged to have new Adirondack chairs set up in the backyard and was used by all. There was a large seating area, both inside and outside for all of us to eat together. In addition, there were numerous secluded outside areas where each family could relax and be alone. Plenty of room for all. The owner was a pleasure to work with. Very organized and helpful in getting rental equipment f(cribs, high chairs, etc) for the children and bikes for the adults. We are all now looking at our calendars for next year to see when we can once again visit and enjoy the luxury of this home.

We just returned home from the best 5 weeks of vacation ever! Carol Shultis is so wonderful to work with, every need was taken care of. I have 2 Labrador retrievers, and this house was perfect. The home was very clean, perfect location for a winter get away! The 4 bedroom house has everything you can ask for. I had guest come and visit off and on, and everyone loved it. The lagoon in the back offers everything from egrets to eagles to osprey, Never a dull moment . My husband thought it was the best. We hope we can return next year to the same spot. Easy access for biking and walking, and a short ride to 2 beautiful beaches. Can't say enough!

Great property, well taken care of and such a quiet neighborhood. We have stayed here for the past two summers with 8 adults and have had an amazing time. Spacious and comfortable. The pool is a perfect size for a group and there is plenty of seating, storage and general space in the home to not feel cramped. The home is clean and in a perfect area of Sea Pines to get anywhere you want to go in just a few minutes. The first year we went there was an issue with the air conditioning unit and we didn't have air conditioning for about two days. The owner was so sweet and provided us a partial refund on our bill for the inconvenience. Would definitely stay here again if we can!

Our family of 6 adults stayed at this beautiful home in Sea Pines. The four spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, were perfect for everyone to have their own space. The back yard patio looking at the lagoon was a wonderful place to wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee every day. The private pool was clean and enjoyed by all. Going to the beach was amazing. Working with the owner was very easy - she is nice and quick to respond to any questions. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!

Beautifully kept home with a great layout for family. There was a wonderful lagoon view, swimming pool, large gathering space and dining area, beautiful well-equipped kitchen for making meals (even a birthday cake), and large bedrooms with sitting area and private patio. Had a wonderful stay here.

I just wanted to drop you a note saying how much we enjoyed our recent stay at 11 Baynard Park Road in Sea Pines. The house was clean and well maintained. The yard was well kept and the view over the lagoon in back was very peaceful. The location close to Harbour Town and the South Beach area was very convenient. Your thoughtful instructions concerning various details were most appreciated. We have stayed at your house on North Live Oak previously and both are homes we would rent again. I will return to this wonderful rental house for as many years as I can! It is spacious and comfy and gorgeous, inside and out. I have a long relationship with Sea Pines and the Rookery feels like "coming home." It is only a short ride by car or bike to the most beautiful beach on earth, or less than a mile stroll. One can access the bike trail network at the end of the street and have an easy ride to Harbor Town, South Beach, Baynard Ruins, Forest Preserve----it's limitless. I have spent many hours recreating using the Rookery as a base, but also spent hours just sitting: watching the lagoon directly out back of the property, spying on the rookery itself, and many other birds and wildlife, through the wall of windows facing the lagoon, or out on the patio. If privacy and solitude are your thing (me) is perfect. But, I have also had a less-quiet family reunion there and it was perfect for that as well. Already looking forward to a repeat visit!

This is the second year we rented the Rookery for 4 weeks. Prior to that we rented one of Carol's homes on Live Oak. There are pros and cons to both locations. The Rookery is a quick bike ride to Harbour Town and South Beach. The homes on Live Oak are close to the Beach Club and Coligny. Carol's homes are fully equipped with everything you need from a multitude of dishes, glassware, cookware and every utensil you can imagine. Carol even purchased a crockpot when we asked if the home had one. The homes are always spotless when you arrive and she is quick to respond to questions and concerns. Thank you Carol and Gary for sharing your homes with us. We hope to return!!!

The Rookery was perfect. The house was wonderful, the pool area and especially the fenced area around the pool and side of the house made it perfect for allowing our dog to be with us outside. And when she decided she’d had enough of the warm sunshine, she could lay on her bed just inside the door and still see us. Layout of the house was great since us in the Master Bedroom and our son in the back corner bedroom were separated for privacy. And the openness of the living area/kitchen/dining area made it perfect to be together at other times of the day. Location was great for convenience to bike path, Harbour Town, Sea Pines Center, South Beach, and the Beach Club. One of the nicest houses we've ever stayed in for more than 20 years of visiting HHI.

We've been traveling and staying on HHI for over 33 years and this was one of the nicest houses and locations to date. The house was extremely comfortable and perfect for our pets. The pool and outdoor pet area were awesome. It was off the main roads which made it nice and private but still a bike ride away from beach, restaurants and shops. And because we were there as Hurricane Florence was rolling into the northeast Carol helped to keep us informed of the weather and what our options were. Would definitely stay here again or possibly stay at one of the other 3 homes C&G Island Properties have available. Have already recommended to family!!!

Wanted to let you know we had a wonderful week at the Rookery!!!! A few rainy periods aside, the weather was picture perfect, the house and heated pool were fabulous, and the beach was awesome! We also loved watching all the SC wildlife behind the house.

This was the perfect property for our family to get away and relax. We enjoyed watching the wildlife (deer, fish, alligator, ibis, egrets, heron, and osprey) right in the back yard. The kitchen was well-stocked and spacious. Our beds were comfortable, and the layout of the bedrooms was excellent for privacy. This neighborhood is perfect for walking, biking, or running. Our grandchildren enjoyed the pool each day. We would definitely book this house again.

The Rookery met all our family's needs and then some! I could tell by my first interaction with Carol that things were going to be great. The house was just as pictured - although it was way more spacious than we imagined! It was plenty of space for our family of 4 - we didn't use two of the bedrooms, but I think there is easily room for 8 to 10 adults/kids. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, plates, and tons of flatware. I cooked most of our meals and found things just where I'd put them in my own house. We paid for pool heat and it really made a difference. The weather was so beautiful, we spent our days at the beach and pool both. The house is a short bike ride to the beach through the shaded path. We rode all over Sea Pines and even to Coligny shopping center with our girls - they had a blast. Rent bikes! We also brought our pup and he was right at home. Carol is so organized and thoughtful. It really was one of our very best family vacations yet!
